THANDA SAFARI
Thanda means Love in the language of the Zulu people. For a very romantic, traditional safari experience, you cannot beat tented camps, and Thanda Tented Camp epitomises the classic African safari, with fifteen deluxe safari tents in an evocative wilderness environment, complemented with flickering firelight and lanterns illuminating the path at night.
Nothing compares to the feeling of being in the African bush and this Big Five private game reserve not only offers a superb safari experience, it has won many international awards for its distinctive accommodation. While the tented camp is fenced to keep out the big game, guests experience up-close living in the wild, with magnificent views of the reserve. Thanda Tented Camp is every bit of a nostalgic safari experience. This is bush life as nature meant it to be: open and inviting, with unmatched views, scents, and sounds.
Each tent includes its own sun terrace as well as en-suite canvas bathrooms. For guests on honeymoon or for special occasions or families, there is the sumptuous Jabula safari tent. It has a king-sized bed and separate lounge, en-suite bathroom, outdoor shower, splash pool and spectacular views. In the central area, there is a rim-flow pool, a boma for sitting around the fire at night or enjoying a bush barbecue, and an evocative Hemingway-style lounge and dining area.
